Long Bows
Longbows by Border utilise Border's all carbon GL construction. All
carbon bow facings ensure ultra low limb mass vital in ensuring maximum
bow performance. Low limb mass aids limb acceleration and reduces hand
shock to unbelievable levels. Be careful of other makes claiming
double or even triple carbon construction as the vast majority support
the carbon facings with additional glass layers defeating the benefits
of using carbons low mass construction. Placing glass or carbon as a
core material only adds to limb mass and performs no useful purpose.
While carbon is described as low mass that is true when compared to
glass laminates however it is very heavy when compared to lightweight
core materials.
Border offers four longbow types all of mild deflex/reflex design:
The Griffon GL and elegant "D" profiled longbow available in bow lengths 64" through to 70"
The
Harrier again a "D" profiled longbow available in two versions the
Harrier GL with Longbow type locator grip and the Harrier Royale with
its heavier mass riser and full pistol grip. available in 64" to 70" bow
lengths
The Hawk Hunter GL with a mild reflexed profile.
designed to accommodated longer draw lengths in shorter bow lengths, bow
lengths 60" through to 66"
The Raptor three piece take apart
longbow available with four limb lengths and two riser lengths. These
limbs have been designed to fit most ILF risers and maximised for this
purpose as indicated by the genuine longbow brace heights that this bow
can be shot with. Extra high BH in bows of this type indicate compromise
in the design. The Raptor risers also handle Border's recurve ILF
limbs.

The Raptor longbow is fully adjustable for weight with a 10% weight adjustment up from the marked weight of the limbs and adjustable for balance giving the archer full control over the bows performance and tune.
