Mirage XP10 Carbon Limbs

Mirage XP10 Carbon Limbs

Border’s Carbon limb technology starts with The XP10 carbon laminates. The XP10 carbon laminate has up to 70% added lateral rigidity compared to conventional glass or glass carbon limbs.

High levels of torsional rigidity reduces the limb’s lateral movement during the shot. This lateral movement is caused by the action of the archer’s release and is the primary cause in "archer’s paradox".

Bows that are sensitive to shoot have weak lateral stability in the limb tips and so the action of the release put lateral loads on the limb and this added limb movement exaggerates the total lateral movement of the string left and right and also the left and right impact of the arrows in the target. Limbs that are torsionally stiff react less to the action of the shot and are more forgiving and accurate to shoot as variations in the release have less of an effect on the arrow. The result is a bow that is forgiving of release variations and accurate under adverse conditions when the archers technique may not be quite as good as usual.

High levels of torsional stability in the limb permits the use of recurve designs that would otherwise be sensitive adding the stability needed. Recurves of much higher cord ratio can safely be used permitting the bow to store higher levels of energy. This high energy storage feature has another automatic advantage to bow design in that It gives a very ergonomic action to the draw sequence making the bow exceptionally smooth to draw.

Limbs available in Elm.
